A neon love affair

December 14, 2017

It is no secret that we have a filthy obsession with neon and the understated edginess it brings to a space. It is bold, it is playful and and it is downright sexy. Nothing demands attention like a piece of bright, glowing neon magic.

Whilst days of past have traditionally seen neon signs light up iconic strips like Sydney's King Cross, these babies are becoming an increasingly popular art piece in streetscapes, interiors and yep, you guessed it, parties and weddings.

Be it a wedding, birthday, baby shower or corporate gig, flashy neon signs are trending in event styling and are a surefire way of commanding your guests attention and making your party pop.

Pair with another statement piece such as a velvet sofa or use to complement an unrefined brick wall, no matter what you do, neon was made to push the boundaries so there are no rules when it comes to where or how you use it. Give that dessert bar a little extra bang with a neon backdrop, position a neon sign at the entrance to your party space as to shout to your guests "this is where the party is at!", suspend from the ceiling or combine with an insane floral installation. Anything and everything goes where neon is concerned but one thing is a given, it will look out-of-this-world!

See below for some of our all time faves, from Perth suppliers and beyond.
